Sandisk’s 200GB microSD memory card will work with devices that support 64 & 128GB cards

    SanDisk 200GB microSD memory card

Just over a week ago, SanDisk announced a 200GB microSD memory card.

Yes, that is a card not much bigger than a fingernail that can hold 35,000 16 megapixel photos!

Quite unbelievable, but that is the wonder of modern technology.

Many are asking will it work with their smartphone or mobile device.

The simple answer is yes, if your smartphone or mobile devices supports 64GB or 128GB cards then the 200GB card will work too.

SDXC stands for Secure Digital Extended Capacity.  Superseding the previous SDHC standard that was capped at 32GB, SDXC can theoretically go up to 2 Terabytes, meaning SD card sizes will continue to grow and we could one day potentially have 2 TB microSD memory cards, if companies like Sandisk can continue to overcome the physical limitations.

So if you are the owner of a Samsung Galaxy S5 or Sony Xperia Z3 as an example you will be able to use a 200 GB microSD if you wish to pay the price of circa £260 when it hits the market in the next few months.

Being an ‘Ultra’ card and rated class 10, video and other data heavy content can be easily read and written to the card as it never drops below 10 Mbps.

Do not just take my word for it.  This video from Mobile World Congress has a SanDisk representative confirm this.
