Nokia are back with an exciting new phone that is rugged AND has 5G connectivity. The Nokia XR20 has been described by Nokia as a tough phone built for the future. It is apparently resistant to scratches, being dropped and being handled by your kids. Daily rough and tumble of life is no problem for the Nokia XR20, as its case looks incredible and is made to MIL-STD-810H military standard, so you can drop it and get it wet without any worries. If you do get mud and other dirt on this smartphone, you can easily clean it with soap and water. As the Nokia XR20 is more robust, it needs a keeping-up-to date with the latest improvements in Android. It comes with the latest, fastest, and most secure Android 11, 3 years of OS upgrades and four years of monthly security updates. That means your phone will still be secured and current into 2025. The Nokia XR20 has a non-removable 4630MAH battery with 18 W charging support and 15 W wireless charging which is strong and will last a couple days. The phone has a Qualcomm snapdragon 480 5G chip with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of built-in storage. To use, the phone has a quick, smooth performance which combined with the large screen makes it enjoyable to operate. The dual rear camera setup of the Nokia XR20 features a 48MP primary sensor and a 13MP ultra-wide one. A dedicated flash ensures you can capture the detail you need for taking incredible images regardless of the lighting conditions. SpeedWarp mode with super-stabilization enables you to fast forward to key moments, and OZO spatial audio has wind-noise cancellation, so your videos look and sound amazing. How rugged is the phone? The Nokia XR20 survived multiple drop tests on concrete and grass. The phone still worked perfectly fine, and the screen was completely un-damaged. However, the rear of the phone scratched quite easily and due to the shiny blue colour of the phone these are quite visible. We also used the XR20 with wet hands in the rain and with gloves. The phone still operated as normal which is impressive. The top of the Nokia XR20 has a red button. This is an emergency button that can be used to quickly call emergency contacts or open apps. This month the new CAT B40 and CAT S42H+ will be released which we are very excited about! I am here to let you know what to expect from these two new models. CAT have a long history of producing rugged phones and these models definitely continue this legacy with some exciting, much needed, hygiene technology.   B40 Let’s start with the B40. The CAT B40 has been designed to be tough and reliable, so you can depend on it no matter your occupation. This phone is deliberately not packed with complex features, and instead focuses on being durable and simple to use, even under pressure. This includes being IP68 and IP69 certified, meaning it is sand, dust, dirt and waterproof to a depth of 1.2 metres for up to 35 minutes. It also adheres to MIL-Spec 810H and can deal with repeated drops from 1.8 metres to concrete or steel. CAT have responded to COVID-19 with a product that has hygiene in mind. For the first time ever, all external components have been blended with silver ion-based antimicrobial additive for exceptional Germ Defense keeping you, your colleagues, and your family safe. This inhibits the spread of bacteria by 80% in 15 minutes and 99% in 24 hours. Peter Cunningham - Bullitt Group product portfolio VP explained that the reasons our phones get so dirty is because of the heat they produce, meaning bacteria can thrive. We then take our phones everywhere with us which means we pick up and spread new contaminants. He said they are proud to introduce these antibacterial devices which will help reduce risk. The CAT B40 device comes with a 2-year warranty and is equipped with a 2MP camera and a 3.5mm audio jack.   S42H+ Now let’s discuss the CAT S42H+. The CAT S42 H+ also has the new hygiene technology in place to protect users. It combines all the benefits of modern technology, including Android 10, with a design that includes IP68 and IP69 water/dust resistance and compliance with MIL-SPEC 810H. The CAT S42H+ is a phone made for people who need more from their smartphone as it blends a rugged phone with antimicrobial silver ions making it perfect for harsh weather conditions or hygienic conscious environment. This new device has an extended battery life of 4200 MAH for 2 full days of usage. It has a bigger memory and a larger, brighter touchscreen than the classic CAT S42. Like many other CAT phones, the S42H+ has a screen that works with gloves and is readable in full sunlight as well as being completely drop proof.  Of course, it is fully submergible in water up to 1.5m for 35 minutes and interestingly is bleach and chemical resistant so it can be wiped clean of any bacteria.   We are very impressed with how CAT have introduced this Hygiene plus element to their devices to keep us all extra safe. Let us know what you think in the comments below, are you impressed too?

PS5 Console Design and Peripherals Last night we saw the PS5 for the first time, Sony has chosen a futuristic design for this console and it looks amazing. There will be two versions available a standard console with a UHD Blu-Ray drive and the digital edition. The latter has a slightly slimmer look due to the lack of the drive, with both looking equally impressive. A wide selection of games gave us a tantalizing demonstration of the PS5 capabilities, with many franchises we all love having updates, or new titles. These included Demon’s Souls, Gran Turismo 7, Sackboy A Big Adventure, Horizon II – Forbidden West, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, Spider-Man Miles Morales and many more. The new DualSense controller was again on display with mention of the Haptic feedback and Adaptive triggers, offering new ways to interact with your games. To complete the gaming experience Sony will be releasing peripherals to complement the PS5. There is an HD camera, media remote, dual controller charging station and headphones with support for 3D audio.   PS5 Console Specifications CPU: AMD Zen 2-based CPU with 8 cores at 3.5GHz (variable frequency)GPU: 10.28 TFLOPs, 36 CUs at 2.23GHz (variable frequency)GPU architecture: Custom RDNA 2Memory interface: 16GB GDDR6 / 256-bitMemory bandwidth: 448GB/sInternal storage: Custom 825GB SSDIO throughput: 5.5GB/s (raw), typical 8-9GB/s (compressed)Expandable storage: NVMe SSD slotExternal storage: USB HDD support (PS4 games only)Optical drive: 4K UHD Blu-ray drive

Under £80 for a feature-packed device?! You'd be mad not to! Display Featuring a sizeable 5.71" display, the Nokia 1.3 can handle all of your viewing and interfacing needs. Big enough that you can see everything in your favourite videos, but not so big that you are still able to access the entire screen with ease; this phone finds a happy medium between form and functionality. With a display resolution of 720x1520 (HD+), you'll always be able to see every detail in your photos and videos. A.I. Camera An 8MP main camera is nothing to scoff at for the price of this device, and considering the built-in A.I. functionality; there's even more bang-for-your-buck available with the Nokia 1.3. There is also a 5MP front-facing selfie camera, so you are really being spoiled at this price point... The A.I. features really shine (ironically) when it comes to shooting in low-light conditions. Google Assistant One of the side-buttons on the Nokia 1.3 is dedicated to your Google Assistant. If you've not heard of this, or have never used it before; Google Assistant is fully integrated and is designed to help you manage your tasks, control your media, check the weather and get answers to your questions, fast. Push the button and just say what you want to do/know/hear and Google Assistant will get it done!  All of the essentials... Rounding out the previously mentioned feature-set; you also get a Qualcomm QM215 Processor and 1GB RAM, Dual-SIM (for personal/work-life separation), 16GB internal storage and Android 10 (GO Edition), all of which make the Nokia 1.3 a great choice for a day-to-day smartphone that does it all. The Quad-Camera The Nokia 8.3 features a brilliant quad-lens main-camera (with ZEISS optics) array including; a super detailed 64MP main lens, 12MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth and another 2MP Macro lens. All of these aspects combine to make a truly formidable camera, capable of shooting and filming with very high definition (including 4K videos!). From wide landscape shots to close-ups on insects, this device has got you covered. The front-facing camera is just as impressive, sporting a 24MP lens (also with ZEISS optics and HDR), keeping your selfies crystal clear. Image/Video Capabilities As mentioned above, the camera on this thing is truly amazing, but it's even more so when you look into some of the processing and capabilities built-in to the Nokia 8.3 5G.  Efficient low-light shooting, active HDR and ZEISS cinematic effects mean that this smartphone is ready when you are, able to shoot at night while retaining the high quality image resolution that you'd expect from an HDR camera, brilliantly reproduced on the 6.81" display (featuring PureDisplay Technology). Similarly, where would a great-quality video be without equally great sound? The Nokia 8.3 can record 360-degree (spatial and directional) full frequency audio to supplement your video in order to make the experience as true-to-life as possible, as if you were in the moment every time you watch. 5G Connectivity With their mass-rollout in 2019, 5G data services supply the fastest connection speeds of any cellular infrastructure to date, and by a long-shot. These lightning-quick speeds allow you to effortlessly share your high-res shots and 4K movies from the Nokia 8.3 5G, while providing seamless streaming and gaming connections, so that nothing will ever get in the way of your entertainment. Under The Hood All of the previously mentioned capabilities of the Nokia 8.3 5G are made possible by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 756G processor, 6GB of RAM and the integrated Android 10 (with Android One) OS. Boasting 5G optimisation and a "premium-tier experience" for gamers and streamers alike, the Snapdragon 756G is 10% faster than the next available model of processor from Qualcomm and runs with energy efficiency in mind, so you can game with players from around the world without worrying about your battery depleting in the middle of a game! Is the Nokia 8.3 5G Waterproof? Once again we revisit the question on everyone's mind; is it waterproof? In this case; no, the Nokia 8.3 5G is not waterproof.
